Position: Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of “Thin Film Solar Cell Fabrication and Modeling”

a)      Lab coordination, proposal writing, supervision of students

b)      Performing research in the area of fabrication of thin film solar cells such as polymer, quantum-dot and dye-sensitized solar cells

c)      Publication of results in high rank journals

 

 

Requirements

a)      PhD in Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical/Materials Engineering or Physics/Chemistry

b)      Background in at least one of the following areas: thin films, nanoparticles/quantum dots, spray and multiphase flow, solar cell characterization, SEM/TEM/AFM

Position: Postdoctoral Researcher in Multibody Dynamics and Control

-         directed by Prof. Andreas Mueller

Job responsibilities:

  • Conduct analytical and computational research on numerical and analytical methods for computational multibody dynamics. Application areas include
    • Realtime simulation in automotive applications, hardware-in-the-loop
    • Advances highly-efficient and tailored time integration methods for very complex multibody systems
    • Design of model-based, nonlinear, and adaptive Control
    • Dynamical human body modeling, determination of dynamic loads and muscle forces in the human body, muscle fatigue modeling, human motion and gait synthesis
  • The work deals with the broad topic of numerical simulation of complex mechanical systems with focus on the fundamental aspects as well as application-driven approaches. Strong background in analytical mechanics and preferably numerical mathematics is essential. Computer and programming skills are absolutely necessary. Candidates are expected to conduct independent research on these topics and help to guide PhD students working on various projects in this area.
  • Collaboration with industry exists.
  • The scientific results will be published in international journals and presented at international conferences. The postdoctoral fellows will work with Prof. Mueller.

  • Ability to conduct independent research
  • Strong English language written and oral communication skills

  • Conduct analytical and computational research on kinematics and dynamics of advanced robotic mechanisms. Application areas include
    • Industrial robotics: novel agile parallel manipulators, redundant manipulators, realtime inverse dynamics and inverse kinematics
    • Minimal invasive surgery and rehabilitation devices
    • Adaptable mechanisms: Reconfigurable and metamorphic mechanisms, anthropomorphic hands, shape-changing and responsive architectural buildings
    • Linkage design
    • Biomechanics: human body modeling, motion reconstruction from capture data
  • The work deals with analytical and computational methods for the automatic design of complex robotic mechanisms. Solid background in kinematics and mathematics is essential. Computer and programming skills are absolutely necessary. Candidates are expected to conduct independent research on these topics and help to guide PhD students working on various projects in this area.
  • Collaboration with industry is anticipated, in China as well as overseas.
  • The scientific results will be published in international journals and presented at international conferences. The postdoctoral fellows will work with Prof. Mueller.
