Qualifications    

Required: Applicants with a PhD in Environmental Geochemistry or Environmental Chemistry or related fields, such Chemistry or Environmental Science and Engineering will be considered.    

Preferred: Applicants whose PhD work included experimental work in environmental science and engineering, with a focus on the behaviors of matter transport and transform in natural or engineering systems under the variations of physical and chemical conditions; especially with high level papers published as first author.    

 

About the Job    

Duties and Responsibilities: The School of Environmental Science and Engineering at the Shanghai Jiaotong University seeks a motivated and highly-skilled postdoctoral associate to work in the Prof. Baoxue Zhou’s Group on Pollutant Behavior Chemistry managed by Associate Prof. and Dr. Hui ZHANG (http://sese.sjtu.edu.cn/TeacherTeam/DetailTeacherInfo.php?num=2&cnum=217&ID=29).    

This group is interested in the migration and transfers of matters, in particular the change of these matters in soil and water systems. One of our main research areas is the search for metal species evolution in the sediment of water and reserving the nitrogen in soil. In addition, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to propose and explore new experimental directions.    

 

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in chemistry or geochemistry and substantial experience in laboratory experiments, trace metal research or N behavior closely-related areas. He or she would also be highly-skilled in matter analysis or measurement techniques. The successful candidate will be offered a competitive package, with an initial appointment of 1 year, renewable subject to mutual consent and availability of funds.    

 

The Shanghai Jiaotong University has been ranked in the top 10 among China universities. Our environmental and engineering lab is located in the Environmental Science Building, which also houses state-of-the-art facilities of the environmental chemical, physical, and biological analysis.
