Brief Introduction:

Postdoctoral mobile station of mathematics of Shanghai Jiaotong University is formally established at the beginning of the year 2001 and externally accepts post doctorate to work in the mobile station, it had received program for Doctor degree of the mathematics first-level discipline in 2003, its discipline of applied mathematics had been listed in the national key training disciplines in 2007, and its discipline of mathematics had been ranked in the first 1% of global academic ESI in 2010 (190 universities and scientific research institutions in the field of mathematics discipline are ranked in the global 1%, including 11 universities in China, and the mathematics discipline is ranked as the seventh in Chinese colleges and universities). The research directions mainly include algebra, theory of partial differential equation and application thereof, ordinary differential equation and power system, combinatorial mathematics and graph theory, number theory, complex analysis and application thereof, mathematical physics, probability theory and mathematical statistics, application probability statistics and financial mathematics, science and engineering calculation, operational research and control theory, applied physics and computational neuroscience, etc., wherein these research directions respectively belong to five second-level disciplines including background mathematics, applied mathematics, computational mathematics, probability theory and mathematical statistics, operational research and control theory and so on.

This discipline currently has 96 full-time teachers and researchers, and more than 80% of the teachers and researchers own a doctor's degree, wherein there are 23 professors (four chair professors titled under the Shanghai Jiaotong University and 19 doctor tutors), one external fellow (part-time), four winners of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (two A-class winners, two B-class winners), two “Changjiang Scholar” distinguished visiting professors and two chair professors. All these teachers have the experience of instructing masters, doctors or post doctorates. At present, 31 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China are being researched (including hosting 29 projects and four people take part in two projects), all professors below 55 years old host the project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, and 145 SCI papers of mathematics first-level discipline are published in 2009.

This mobile station had cultivated a group of post doctorates, wherein 28 post doctorates had left the station normally, and seven researchers are still in the mobile station. Since the year 2007, three person had once hosted Youth Foundation of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one person had hosted mathematics Tianyuan Foundation of National Natural Science Foundation of China, three persons had obtained special fund of China post doctorate, four persons had obtained special fund of Shanghai post doctorate, one person had obtained Morning Plan of Shanghai Education and Development committee and two persons had obtained Young Teacher Foundation of Shanghai Jiaotong University and SMC Foundation; these talents are becoming an important backbone of scientific research and making positive contribution to promoting scientific research and discipline construction, as well as improving and optimizing the teaching staff.

Brief Introduction of Director of post-doctor station of mathematics:

Professor Wang guangya was graduated from Mathematical Research Institute of Fudan University with doctorate; he worked in mathematics department of Shanghai Jiaotong University since July 1992 and was engaged in the research of post doctorate from October, 1995 to December, 1996; he was promoted to a professor in 1998 and a doctor tutor in 1999 with research direction of theory of partial differential and application thereof; and he was worked as visiting professor in the universities or research institutes of America, Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria, Japan and Hong Kong for many times. Professor Wang Guangya had hosted three general projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, two subprojects of key project, four projects of Ministry of Education of the State (including talent foundation: one teaching and research incentive plan of Ministry of Education and one foundation project of university core teacher), one Shanghai rising-star program and one rising-star track and training program, and he had participated and completed one key project of Shanghai and several international cooperation projects; he is now hosting one project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, participating one Sino-US international cooperation project, one Sino-German international cooperation project and one National Natural Science Foundation of Germany. Besides, he had published more than 50 papers on international journals, wherein more than 40 papers were included in SCI, and his papers were quoted by his international counterparts for more than 100 times.

Major awards:1997: “Science and Technology Development Training program” of Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality; 1999: “Shanghai University Excellent Young Teacher Award”; 2000: first “Young Teacher Award” of Ministry of Education of China; 2001: Young Scientist Award of International Association for Analysis, Application and Computation (ISSAC) in Berlin; 2003: “Science and Technology Development Training program” of Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality; and 2004: selected as “The first national list of One Hundred plus One Thousand plus Ten Thousand Talents Project of the New Century” by National Personnel Authority.
