The School of Design Wins Top Honor for Song & Recital Competition—For the Fifth Time

On December 9, 2023, Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s “12.9” Song&Recital Competition was successfully held. The School of Mechanical Engineering and the School of Design teamed up to sing “Ten Tributes for the Red Army,” affectionately expressing the people’s firm support, bravery, and firm belief of the Chinese people in difficult times. The performance was recognized with a gold medal, and an award for distinction. Hong Yifan won the best conductor award and Gu Yihang won the best piano accompanist award.

The Song&Recital Competition is an essential venue for ideological and political education, as well as for education concerning aesthetics. It is also an immersive form of education in patriotism at the Jiao Tong. The School of Design, which has always adhered to the educational philosophy of educating people through the nurturing of beautiful souls, allowing students to discover beauty, appreciate beauty, and convey beauty in singing while improving comprehensive literacy and building cultural heritage.
